Ad Blockers
Some visitors use content blockers that block analytics scripts by pattern, domain name, or request path. As a result, reported traffic may be lower than actual traffic.
-
Host liwan on your site’s domain. Use a subdomain like
a.example.com, or serve it under a path likehttps://example.com/liwanso tracker requests use the same origin as your site. For a path deployment, setbase_urlto that full URL and forward the path without stripping the prefix. See the reverse proxy guide for an HTTPS setup. -
If using a subdomain, choose a neutral name such as
a.example.comorliwan.example.com. Names likeanalytics.example.commay match domain-based blocklists, even when hosted under your own site. -
Test with a blocker enabled. Reload your site with the browser’s Network tab open and look for
script.jsand/api/event. A blocked script cannot send pageviews, while a blocked event request prevents the server from receiving them. Some visitors will still be uncounted because blockers can target request paths as well as domains.
